If you have a rain gauge then this is the app for you!

Rainfall and Snow is so simple to record. Just double tap on the calendar date, enter your rainfall on the pop up screen, press save and your done.

NOTE - IF YOU HAVE MULTIPLE RAIN GAUGES, THEN CHECK OUT RAIN LOG PRO AS IT MAY BE BETTER SUITED TO YOUR SITUATION.

APP FEATURES

-iCloud enabled - When enabled, rainfall data can be shared automatically between devices using the same iTunes account.

-Data can be recorded in either mm or inches (amounts can also be converted back and forth between mm/inches)

-When entering Rainfall or Snow, you can also select a weather image for each date cell.

-Comments can be entered for each day.

-Ability to record Rainfall or Snow as TRACE amount if it has rained or snowed, but it is not enough to measure.

-An easy to read bar graph shows monthly totals for rainfall or snow.

-Current monthly totals and also averages for Past 2 years and Past 5 years are displayed clearly in columns for easy reference.

-Easily compare current year and previous years Month To Date (MTD) totals and Year To Date (YTD) totals.

-Data can easily be backed up and emailed to yourself. It can then be restored should something happen to your device.

-Data can be backed up straight to Dropbox.

-Backup files are recorded in csv format. This allows for importing the data into a spreadsheet if you want.

Note - Please use this backup function. It is there to protect your data if something goes wrong. It cant do that if you never make a backup though.

Be sure to read the help file when first starting Rain Log. It is the Button on the top left corner of the screen on the iPad and the bottom right of the screen on the iPhone.

Pros and cons of Rain Log app for iPhone and iPad

Rain Log app good for

Love it but I would like to be able to record and compare multiple gauges.

As a small-scale farmer raising cattle and sheep, it is essential to know how much rain our pastures and garden are receiving. Combined with a good rain gauge, this app works perfectly.

As a farmer I pay close attention to the weather. This is the best app for logging rainfall, I love every feature!

Love the app.it is great, use it everyday, I would like to be able to use a different pictures from my Library to put on the different days of the months on the calendar, that would awesome.

Some bad moments

This is my 4th try to review. If it doesnt go through I know why this has such popular reviews! Theyre cherry picking! Do not buy this app unless you have a rain gauge! Sadly just wasted my money.

This is now the second time I have lost three months data. App just wont open. And Ive been backing up. Dont waste your time with this app

Could be better with temperature. The other features are great though.

Thought this would tell me how much rain weve gotten but its all do it yourself.

This app is exactly what I wanted. They make no false claims, the app does what it says it will do!

Great app for tracking rain data!! Wish it had temp feature, would like to track temp with rainfall! Overall, well worth the money!
